GroScan doesn't collect or send your data to any cloud platform. Every price, trip, and budget you enter stays stored locally on your device — not on our servers, because we don't have any to send it to.
GroScan ("the App") is built around one rule: your grocery and budget data belongs to you, and it stays on your device. This policy explains what that means in practice.
GroScan does not collect, transmit, or store your shopping data — item names, prices, trip history, or budget figures — on any server or cloud platform. Everything you enter or scan is saved locally in the App's storage on your iPhone.
GroScan requests camera access solely to let you photograph price tags for faster entry. Photos are processed on your device to extract a price and are not uploaded anywhere. You can also use manual entry mode without ever granting camera access.
GroScan does not require you to create an account, sign in, or connect to any online service to use its core features. Because there is no cloud sync, uninstalling the App or losing your device will also remove your locally stored data — we recommend using your device's built-in backup (such as iCloud device backup) if you'd like a copy preserved.
GroScan does not embed third-party analytics or advertising SDKs that collect personal shopping data. Aggregated, anonymous crash diagnostics may be provided by Apple's standard App Store platform tools, governed by Apple's own privacy terms, not ours.
GroScan Premium subscriptions are processed entirely through Apple's App Store billing system. GroScan does not receive or store your payment details; that information is handled directly by Apple in accordance with the Apple Privacy Policy.
GroScan is a household budgeting tool intended for general audiences and is not directed at children. As the App collects no data off-device, no personal information from any user, including children, is transmitted or stored externally.
If this policy changes, an updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

These Terms govern your use of GroScan (the "App"), provided for use on Apple iOS devices. By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.
GroScan is a personal budgeting and price-tracking tool. It is provided to help you estimate and track spending while shopping; totals are calculated from the prices you scan or enter manually and may not always exactly match a final register total due to taxes, discounts, or entry errors.
Any item names, prices, photos, and trip data you enter remain your own content, stored locally on your device. You are responsible for maintaining your own backups, as GroScan does not store this data on our servers.
You agree not to reverse-engineer, resell, or misuse the App in ways that violate applicable law or Apple's App Store guidelines.
GroScan is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that scanned or manually entered totals will be free of errors, and GroScan should be used as a budgeting aid rather than a substitute for reviewing your actual receipt.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, GroScan and its developers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the App, including discrepancies between in-app totals and actual purchase amounts.

Yes. Since GroScan stores everything on your device, scanning, manual entry, and budget tracking all work fully offline.
Not currently. Because GroScan doesn't use cloud storage, trip and budget data stays on the device it was entered on.
Local app data is removed when GroScan is deleted, unless it's included in a device-level backup like iCloud. We recommend keeping device backups on if you want to preserve trip history.
Open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, select GroScan, and choose Cancel Subscription.
Yes. Go to GroScan's in-app Settings and select your preferred currency from the list — all totals and budgets will update to match.
Try scanning again in brighter, even lighting, holding the phone steady and close to the tag. If it still doesn't read correctly, you can always add or correct the item using manual mode.
